ATM Tracking with Advanced Sensor Detection

As the size and weight of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) decreases they become ever more vulnerable to the rising trend of “smash and grab” theft.  Tamper monitoring detection and GPS Asset Tracking are the best deterrents to ATM theft and subsequent recover.

Instances of smash and grab theft are increasing around the country, due in part to economy and the dramatic rise in the number of money machines located in convenience stores and gas stations.  These locations are often closed during the late night hours and become easy targets.

Here is an actual theft, captured live by CCTV:

Once the ATM is outside the facility, thieves simply lift into the back of their truck and drive off.

ATMs are attractive targets as even off hours machines will typically contain $10,000 or so in cash. Some ATM’s in high traffic areas contain upwards of $100,000 during peak usage hours. Theft is costly to all parties involved.
